KARACHI: Imaal Ahmed of Sindh set a new national record in the 200m freestyle on the second day of the National Swimming championship at the WAPDA Sports Board Complex in Lahore on Saturday.
Imaal recorded 2:16.97 minutes in the competition. She was followed by Dubai-based Lianna Swan of Army who clocked 2:17.01 and London-based Anum Bandey who registered a timing of 2:29.33.
Army were leading the women’s competitions with 11 gold, six silver and five bronze medals.
They were followed by Sindh who had two gold, seven silver and six bronze medals.
Punjab were trailing third with one bronze.
Army also had a tight grip on the men’s events as they had grabbed seven gold, eight silver and four bronze medals.
WAPDA were second having claimed four silver and five bronze medals.
Sindh were at the third spot with three gold and four silver medals.
