LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that Pakistan Army is an asset of Muslim Ummah and attacking any Muslim country would be a grave mistake.
But attack on Makkah or Madina would be considered attack on whole Ummah and Pakistan would defend the two holy cities, he said while telephonically addressing the central executive council from Canada Tuesday.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said political issues should not be mingled with faith and government could not be trusted on the Yemen issue. He said the government was staging a show in parliament and had never spoken the truth. He said the nation could only trust Army Chief and he should brief the nation on the facts of the Yemen issue and explain the line of action in this respect.
He said that Yemen faced a civil war like situation and all the other Muslim nations like Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia must find a solution to the issue through talks. But, he said, at the moment the best solution would emerge if elections were held in Yemen. He said the use of force would only benefit the enemy. He made it clear that the use of force could in no way be beneficial for the Muslim states.
