BANNU: A meeting of journalists at the Bannu Press Club on Tuesday demanded immediate release of a tribal reporter arrested by the security forces recently.
The demand was made through a resolution passed by the participants of the meeting. A senior journalist and founder of the Tribal Union of Journalists, Selab Mehsud, chaired the meeting. Also in attendance were journalists from South North Waziristan,
Frontier Region Tank and Bannu.
The meeting had been convened to discuss the arrest of Nasru Minallah, a reporter from North Waziristan Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He is associated with a media group. The journalist was reportedly arrested by the security forces on March 31 from Frontier Region (FR) Bannu.
