Minar-e-Pakistan – the symbol of our pride – looks unkempt due to the carefree attitude of the people visiting the monument. No doubt it is the government’s responsibility to take care of cleanliness around the site. But those visiting the site should also display some civic sense and avoid throwing trash around it. We have defaced its beauty ourselves.
Nobody can go to the top of the tower now because it was being used by some people to commit suicide. Similarly, most of the area around the Lahore Fort is now occupied by people. They have destroyed a great part of the fort to build their houses. It is our responsibility to take care of our historical heritage.
