KARACHI: Dawlance launched insect repellent technology laden refrigerators and split air conditioners in Pakistan on World Health Day on Tuesday.
In a statement, Hasan Jameel, general manager of marketing at Dawlance, said they pioneered the insect and mosquito repellent series in refrigerators across the world, whereas a few international brands did the same in the air conditioners segment.
“Insects and mosquitoes pose numerous health risks for people as they carry potentially fatal diseases such as dengue and malaria. Thus, we are happy to be able to provide solutions to customers who can use our appliances as another mode of protection from bugs to lead a healthier life in general,” he said.
A devise fitted on refrigerators creates low intensity vibrations, which do not allow insects to stay in a significant diameter, and are not intrusive for humans. Moreover, lights (UV rays) fitted inside the refrigerators double the food protection time as compared to the fridges not carrying the lights, he said.
Simultaneously, a device fitted with air conditioners produces low intensity sounds keeping mosquitoes at bay.
“The devices can operate even if the appliances are not switched on, but must be plugged-in,” he said.
