A father of three was got killed by his brother-in-law through a hired assassin at the Mochi Gate police limits on Friday.
Police have arrested the hired assassin identified as Khurram while accused brother-in-law named Hashim was at large. The victim has been identified as Amir. Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy.
Hashim and Amir had a scuffle a couple of days back over which Hashim nursed a grudge against him and planned to kill him. He hired Amir who shot at and injured him. He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. A police official said accused Hashim was on interim bail and he would be arrested after his bail was cancelled.
Man dies: A 45-year-old man, who had received burns in a cylinder blast a couple of days back, succumbed to injuries at the Mayo Hospital on Friday.
Police have handed over the body to his family after completing the legal formalities. The victim is survived by a widow and four children. He was a labourer by profession.
Cheating cases: Secondary School (9th Class) Annual Examination 2015 culminated in all the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across Punjab with the paper of Islamiat (Compulsory) on Friday.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC), a total of 292 Unfair Means Cases (UMCs) as well as 25 Impersonation Cases were registered against candidates during the entire 9th Class Examination by all the nine boards.
