DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A cop sustained injuries while another escaped unhurt when unidentified gunmen fired at them in the Kulachi tehsil on Thursday, sources said.
The sources said that Constables Haqnawaz and Juma Khan were on their way back to the police station after performing duty with the anti-polio team in Garra Mohabbat Khan when identified gunmen opened fire on them.
“Constable Haqnawaz sustained injuries and his colleague escaped unhurt in the attack while the accused escaped the scene,” said an official.The injured cop was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan where his condition was stated to be stable.
The police launched search operation in the surrounding area and closed all exit points for the arrest of the accused but no arrest was made so far.
