They were addressing an interfaith peace conference by World Council of Religions Pakistan (WCR) chaired by its chairman Qari Hanif Jalandhari and addressed by renowned religious leaders, scholars, journalists, politicians including Federal Minister of Interfaith harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, President Rabta tul Madaras Malana Abdul Malik, Bishop Irfan Jamil, Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs Punjab Muhammad Shehriyar Sultan, DG Auqaf and Religious affairs Punjab Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari, Archbishop Sabestian Francis Shaw, Director of Peace Center Father James Chanun, Rev Dr Majid Abel and Pastor Emmanuel Khokar.
While condemning the incident of Youhanabad, the speakers said terrorist attacking worship places and killing innocent people never belong to any religion, and added that those who burnt alive innocent humans committed a worse act than terrorism, which was also an insult of humanity.
They said such incidents were a grave conspiracy to destruct the peace of Pakistan, creating unrest among religions and sects, and destabilize Pakistan. The conspiracy also aimed at flying the capital out of the country and force educated youth and skilled workers to migrate abroad.
They urged upon countrymen to rise above religious and sectarian differences and work together to defeat terrorists.
