FAISALABAD: The National Textile University, Faisalabad, has rescheduled the final examinations for Fall-2014, which will now begin from April 6, said Registrar Dr Muhammad Ashfaq.
In a press release here on Wednesday, he said that no student would be allowed to sit in the examinations if the requirement of 75 per cent attendance was not fulfilled as per the rules. He disclosed that around 150 students had been illegally residing in the hostel and most of them were involved in illegal activities, including drug use and harassment of the first year students due to which many newcomers had left the university. He said that the illegal boarders had been allowed to stay in the hostel till the end of the final examinations after provisional registration with the hostel authorities. He said that new allotments would be made as per rules at the beginning of the next semester and no student would be allowed to stay in the hostel without due allotment and clearance of fees. He said that some students had failed to meet 70 per cent attendance requirement to appear in the final examinations because of indulgence in illegal activities.
He clarified that the 12 rusticated students would remain expelled from the university. He, however, said their appeals would be processed by the university appellant committee, which would review their expulsion case on merit.
