KARACHI: Hyderabad clinched the title of the inaugural Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Women’s Sepaktakraw Championship when they defeated Karachi Orange 2-0 in the final here at Dewa Academy in Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Monday.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Hyderabad outclassed Karachi Blues 2-0, while Karachi orange outgunned Mirpurkhas 2-0.
Former Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Raheela Tiwana graced the closing ceremony and handed over the winners trophy to Hyderabad’s captain Hina Rafiq Rajput.
Hina was also declared the best player of the slots.
Speaking on the occasion, Raheela said it was good to see women taking part in sepaktakraw competitions.
In the end, secretary Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation Noushad Ahmad Khan presented the shield to the chief guest.
Also present were Sindh Sepaktakraw Association’s president Shabbir Ahmad, media-coordinator Dr Mohammad Arif Hafeez, Asrar Hussain Abdi and Asad Khan. Hyderabad Greens, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Larkana were the other outfits who took part in the event.
