CHITRAL: Scores of street vendors on Saturday held a protest rally against local traders and highhandedness of traffic police.
Chanting slogans against the traffic police, the protesters gathered outside the Chitral Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, the representatives of the traders said that most of the small vendors were educated people and were selling fruits and vegetables to earn livelihood for their families.
“W are selling fruits and vegetables on lower rates. The shopkeepers consider this against their interest and want to dislodge us from the
bazaar area,” said one of the vendors. They added that the cops of traffic police had been harassing them on different pretexts.
