RMU to purchase modern medical equipments

Rawalpindi : The third meeting of the syndicate of the Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) held at the Holy Family Hospital under Punjab Minister for Secondary Health and Medical Education Khawaja Suleman Rafique here Thursday.

Important decisions were taken in the meeting regarding the purchase of modern medical equipments, payment of bills for the outsource cleanliness system of hospital, extension of contractual employees and new recruitments. The syndicate ordered an inquiry in to inflated gas bills of the Holy Family Hospital and Khawaja Suleman Rafique said it should be confirmed whether the cause of inflated bills is gas leakage or mal-functioning of gas meters or delay in the receiving of bills and action should be taken against those who are found negligent of their duties.

Syndicate meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor National University Medical Sciences and representative of HEC Lt. General Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed, former Chairman of BOD Dr. Muhammad Aslam, VC Rawalpindi Medical University Prof. Muhammad Amjad, Rector NUST Lt. General (r) Naweed Zaman, Director Local Audit Fund Mazhar Hussain, MPA Zaib un Nisa Awan and other concerning officials.

The Syndicate meeting paid glowing tributes to Khawaja Suleman Rafique for his services in health sector of Punjab and controlling dengue and said his services will be remembered in the medical history of Punjab. Presiding over the meeting Khawaja Suleman Rafique said that the members of the syndicate should be invited to inspect civil work, cleanliness system in hospitals and purchase of modern equipments in the hospitals attached to the university. He said before the approval of syndicate of the new recruitments in Benazir Bhutto Hospital for grade 1 to 15 should be referred to Election Commission for opinion. He said the case of the employees in BBH who has been regularised and reinstated on the court orders should be resolved in the light of court orders and legal formalities.
