GUJRANWALA: A seminary teacher tortured a student over a minor issue at Qilla Didar Singh on Monday.Reportedly, Abdul Moeez, a seminary student, threw some water at another student. On receiving the complaint, teacher Qari Haroon tortured him with sticks. Moeez was shifted to DHQ hospital. On the written application of his father, Qila Didar Singh police have started investigation.
FOUR OF DACOIT GANG HELD: The CIA police claimed to have arrested four members of a dacoit gang, involved in a dozen of robbery incidents.DSP Imran Abbas Chadhar told that accused Shahzad of Shahdra, Babar of Narowal, Ali Raza of Gujranwala and Taimor of Madu Khalil Gujranwala were involved in dozens of dacoity and robbery incidents in different city areas. On a tip-off, the CIA raided and arrested all the four accused. Cash and illegal arms were recovered from them.
MAN SHOT AT, INJURED: A man was shot at and injured by two motorcyclists here at Jandiala Baghwala on Monday. Reportedly, Afzal was going home when two motorcyclists opened fire near his home. He received a bullet and was shifted to DHQ hospital. Afzal alleged that his second wife Naseem was involved in this attack because he recently divorced her. Police have started investigation.
WOMAN ATTEMPTS SUICIDE: A woman tried to commit suicide over domestic issues here at Model Town on Monday. Sawera, 33, swallowed poisonous pills and went unconscious. She was rushed to DHQ hospital in critical condition.
