Cases against motorcycle workshops on Murree Road

Rawalpindi: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has launched operation against encroachers particularly motorcycle workshops set up on footpaths of Murree road, creating hindrance in smooth flow of traffic.

The CTP registered four FIRs under Section 341 against the encroachers including three in Waris Khan police station and one in City Police Station while the goods of the encroachers were also confiscated and handed over to TMA staff. The operation conducted under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Police, Traffic City Circle Junaid Mohsin, Sector Incharge Murree Road Rafi Rathor and other CTP officers, started from Liaquat Bagh and ended at Naz Cinema Turn.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Rawalpindi, SSP, Bilal Iftikhar encroachments are major hurdle in ensuring smooth flow of traffic in the city. He said that the traffic wardens were making efforts to avoid traffic mess on the roads.

The CTO urged the traders to cooperate with traffic police in removing encroachments, adding that without the removal of encroachments, the traffic problems could not be resolved. CTP have taken solid steps to ensure smooth flow of traffic on Murree Road and other main city roads, he added. All circle and sector incharges have been directed to take action against the rule violators. The operation against encroachments would continue, he added.

CTO has also directed the Traffic Officers and Wardens to take strict action in accordance with the law against double parking, wrong parking and one-way violators particularly on main roads of the city to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Enhanced numbers of traffic wardens have been deployed at the busy roads to clear wrong parking while lifters are also available to lift vehicles and motorcycles parked in a wrong way, he added.

one-wheelers booked: City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi launched a massive operation against one-wheelers during the holy month of Ramazan particularly after ‘sehri’. The orders were issued to register cases against one-wheelers and impound their motor cycles under Section 99-A.

Two FIRs have been registered in New Town Police Station against one-wheelers and the rules violators have been sent behind the bars under Section 550. According to Chief Traffic Officer, SSP, Bilal Iftikhar, special squads constituted in this regard are taking strict action in accordance with the law against one-wheelers particularly at Murree Road, Mall Road, Airport Road and other important roads of the city. All the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), sectors in charges and traffic wardens have been directed to take strict action against the violators.

Under the Ramazan traffic plan, traffic police officers were directed to keep a vigilant eye on suspicious vehicles, he added. Traffic wardens would also take strict action against double and wrong parking which causes traffic jams and creates inconvenience for the road users, he said.

NCHD: National Commission on Human Development (NCHD) has enrolled 16,430 students in Balochistan at primary level to raise literary level in the country under its ‘Education for All’ initiative. NCHD, in the collaboration with provincial education department, was operating 439 schools in 24 districts of Balochistan to ensure right of education for all at their door step. Director Operation, National Commission for Human development (NCHD), Sikandar Shah, said that they were working closely with education department and also providing the assistance to them for the advancement of Balochistan dwellers education.

He informed that NCHD was also providing the equipment and conducting special trainings to teachers aimed at provision of education to disabled children in the less-developed areas of the country.
