JHANG: A man allegedly killed his sister and niece for ‘honour’ at Chak 230/JB on Sunday.
According to the police, accused Taj killed his sister Kausar (40) and niece Sadia (20). Mochiwala police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy. Jhang police spokesman Muhammad Younas said that accused Taj had been arrested along with a pistol used in the double murder.
RAMAZAN BAZAARS: Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik has directed the price control magistrates to ensure availability of daily-use items on subsidised rates in the Ramazan bazaars.
Talking to reporters in the Sadar Ramazan Bazaar on Sunday, the DC said that stern action would be taken against the violators and officials who would show poor performance. The DC said that the prices of fruits, vegetables and other edibles were being controlled through proper monitoring. He directed the price control magistrates to send profiteers to jail without discrimination and keep a check on the quality of the products. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sajjad Ahmed Khan, AC Shahid Abbas, District Information Officer Rao Shakeel and other officials were also present.
