Residents block road after clash in Haripur
HARIPUR: The residents blocked the road for more than an hour after at least 13 people were injured during a clash between two groups in the limits of the City Police Station.
The incident took place when Iqbal, resident of Mohallah Rasheedabad, and the father of a police official identified as Khubaib Kohistani, exchanged hot words.
Later, men from both groups started fist fight in which more than 13 people were injured. All the injured were referred to the DHQ Hospital Haripur.
After the fight, area residents blocked GT Road near Afaq Hotel and demanded suspension of the head of the local police station.
They accused the city police of favouring their fellow and not registering FIR against the people of Kohistan community.
However, the protestors dispersed peacefully after the police officials assured them their support.
