Tennis players, officials to get cash awards

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has approved cash incentives for all Davis Cup players and officials who helped the country win the tie against South Korea.
Aqeel Khan and Aisamul Haq will receive Rs2 million each while two other players Abid Ali Akbar, Muzammil Murtaza and two officials Hameedul Haq and Mushaf Zia will be awarded rupees half a million each.
“Yes, we have received approval from prime minister to award these players and officials cash incentives worth Rs6 million. Cheques for the purpose will be issued soon,” a Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) official when contacted said.Apart from this amount, the prime minister has approved another Rs5 million as a special grant for the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF).
