‘Inefficient rulers disappointed nation’
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) newly elected provincial president Mehboobullah Jan has said that the immature attitude of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and inefficient rulers have disappointed the nation and his party would gain majority in the forthcoming election particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to The News, the former MNA, said that very important members from respectable families, who were fed up with the existing deteriorating political system, would join PML-Q and play active role in future politics.
Mehboobullah said his party was also in contact with other parties for future election alliances but he would not disclose the names at this stage.
Hailing from Kohistan district in Hazara division, he said that his elder brother Maulana Abdul Baqi remained as provincial minister, and his second brother Maulana Obaidullah served as district nazim and MPA.
“You will see positive changes and positive steps before and after the elections,” he said, adding that his party, under the leadership of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi would bring forward mature politicians to restore trust of the nation in the politicians.
Mehboobullah said present political system had deteriorated and only mature politicians and parties could solve the issues confronting the nation and country.
The PML-Q provincial president said the PTI leadership had always taken U-turns.
He said the PTI leader changed their stance on different issues during the five years term of the government.
He maintained that PTI Chairman Imran Khan issued show-cause notice to 20 MPAs on the charges of selling votes in the Senate election but he ignored the fact that five members were not his party’s MPAs.
Mehboobullah recalled that the PML-Q general secretary, Wajihuzzaman, who has kept himself away from corruption during his career, was also accused of selling his vote.
He said the immature political leaders should have thought about themselves before accusing others.
To a question, he said that the PPP had mature leadership compared to PTI and PML-N.
The PML-Q, he said, believed in the integrity and solidarity of Pakistan and would do politics to strengthen its foundations.
He said that he was a part of 12-member delegation, which recently visited North Waziristan.
Mehboobullah said the delegation included members from PTI, PML-N, JI and other parties. He said the delegates visited various government institutions besides the Pak-Afghan border, where exemplary developmental work had been completed by Pakistan Army.
He deplored some people were bent upon destroying image of the Pakistan Army. He said the country would be strong and stable if its army was strong.
He said that Pakistan Army was the only organised and strong institution throughout the Islamic world and the enemies were trying to damage its image.
The PML-Q observed that the politicians had basically left their job of strengthening institutions. “We have ruined every institution including those meant for development of the country,” he said, asking this correspondent to visit and see the quality of the roads, schools, hospitals, colleges, playgrounds and bazaars, which have been constructed by the Pakistan Army.
Referring to politicians, he said: “We have failed to perform our duty. The army has improved whatever we destroyed,” he said.
Mehboobullah added that the nation had realised the fact and they would reject immature politicians in coming election and vote for the mature political parties for their prosperous future.
