KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its ongoing efforts to control grey traffic has unearthed two illegal gateway exchanges in Burewala, a statement said on Friday.
Two successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with the FIA team in two areas of Burewala, it said.
First raid was carried out at Masoom Colony. An illegal exchange comprising two gateways along with other equipment was confiscated.
Three people were arrested and were in the FIA custody for further investigations.
Second raid was carried out at Chak No. 409/EB, from where two illegal VoIP exchanges along with other related equipment were confiscated, the statement said.
The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of the continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by the PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic, thus, curtailing the loss to the national exchequer.
