Pak karate team off to Japan
LAHORE: Pakistan karate team departed for Okinawa (Japan) for participation in 17th Asian Cadet, Junior and U-21 Karate Championship.
The championship is being held from May 11 at Budokan Okinawa, Japan. Four players and one coach are participating in the championship. Shahbaz Khan (gold medallist of South Asian Karate Championship) will compete in Junior 68 kg category. Saweel Fayyaz (South Asian silver medallist) will participate in U-21 75kg category. Miss Sadia Sharif will fight in U-21 55kg category and Miss Ayesha Ibrahim will participate in U-21 61kg category. Shah Muhammad Shan will be the coach of the team.
An official of the Pakistan Karate Federation said that the PKF has chalked out a comprehensive program for the promotion of karate from the grass root level for the players and arranging coaching courses and referee courses.
