Jhelum outplay Chakwal in RMPL
RAWALPINDI: Jhelum Hawks outplayed Chakwal Peacocks by eight wickets in a match of the Rawalpindi Masters Premier League (RMPL) 2018 here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Chakwal Peacocks were bundled out for just 81 runs in 18.1 overs. Dawar Hussain (23) was the only batsman to get into double figures while extras contributed 18.
Left-arm pacer Hamid Ali was the pick of Jhelum Hawks’ bowlers and finished with impressive figures of 3-16. Syed Touseeq Shah and Rashid Minhas also bowled well to claim three wickets each for 27 and 33 runs, respectively.
Needing just 82 runs to win in 50 overs, Jhelum Hawks raced to their target in 10.1 overs with eight wickets in hand. Sarmad Hameed (28 not out), Rizwan Rafiq (18), Usman Haider (17 not out) and Mohammad Ajmal (11) batted well for the winners.Zeeshan Ahmed (1-17) and Mohammad Faisal (1-37) were the wicket-takers for Chakwal Peacocks.
