KARACHI: Abdul Rehman Muzammil slammed a solid century to put Multan in a commanding position against Karachi Blues on the second day of their four-day final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-II at Multan Stadium on Wednesday.
In response to Karachi Blues’ first innings total of 154, Multan resumed their innings at 71-2 and went on to score 306 all out to gain 152-run lead.In his fantastic 113, Muzammil hit nine fours and three sixes off 193 balls.
Waqar Hussain chipped in with 89 off 171 balls, striking 11 fours. Ashiq Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 4-96. Spinner Mohammad Asghar got 4-115. Mohammad Umar claimed 2-44.Karachi Blues were 81-4 in their second innings at stumps. They need 71 more runs to avert an innings defeat. Fahadis Bukhari was at the crease on 26 in which he had hit four fours. Saud Shakeel fell for 20 after the left-handed diminutive batsman had his two fours from 49 balls. International all-rounder Aamer Yamin got 2-16.
