More appear for SBP boxing trials

LAHORE: Sports Board Punjab (SBP), under the directives of Secretary Sports Punjab Muhammad Aamir Jan, conducted the trials of four divisions - Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Gujranwala to select teams for Inter-Division Punjab Open Boxing Championship here on Sunday.

Overall 765 boxers from nine divisions featured in the 2-day hectic trials activity at State of the Art Punjab Tennis Stadium.A large number of male and female boxers keenly took part in the trials in a bid to feature in the Inter-Division Punjab Open Boxing Championship whose slogan is ‘Kaun banay ga Punjab ka boxing champion’.

Expert jury members - Arshad Javed Qureshi, Jamshed Kazmi, Ch Imran, Abdul Haq, Raees Azam, Ghulam Murtaza and M Zubair - supervised the trials process and selected the talented boxers on merit for the mega event being organised at State of the Art Punjab Tennis Court, Nishtar Park Sports Complex from May 12 to 15, 2018.

Following young talented pugilists were picked up for the grand boxing championship.
