Karachi to be made clean, green: Siraj
KARACHI: The Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, has vowed to make Karachi "clean and green" if his party made it to power in the city in General Election 2018.
Speaking to the Jamaat-e-Islami youth convention at the Bagh-i-Jinnah on Sunday, he said the country has an all time high population of youth, around 65 percent of the total, who are disappointed with the system of governance.
The JI Amir claimed that the Jamaat-e-Islami will give 50 percent of its parliamentary tickets to the youth to make them MPAs and MNAs. He said the country is full of resources but the "rampant" corruption has crippled its progress.
"Today's Pharaoh wanted to make youth his slaves," he commented: "The Jamaat-e-Islami will show them the right path. We want to make this country corruption free."Siraj said the enemies are aware of the strength of Pakistan's youth and are investing heavily to mislead them.
Siraj said it is not the country that they wanted to create but will put it on the right track through their political struggle.
He condemned the assassination attempt on Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in Narowal and asked how can a common person feel safe when even the ministers cannot.
The JI Amir criticized the MQM-P's political approach and said the city has had enough of ethnic violence and is being forced into it once again.
"This shouldn't happen" he added: "The enforcement of Nizam-e-Mustafa (PBUH) will redress all the problems."
He said the ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif says that the 2018 election will be conducted by 'aliens' while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman says in 2013 the former was helped by the 'invisible forces' to make it to power. "Such statements are making people lose belief in the election."
