This refers to the letter, ‘What is our crisis?’ (March 16) by B A Malik. The writer has rightly highlighted that we are facing political, economic, cultural, intellectual and moral crises.
Unfortunately, none of our political parties has a manifesto to bring about a revolutionary change with a multidimensional perspective. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to some extent, has been voicing its concern over corruption and political manoeuvrings. However, strong will and determination for a revolution in various crises mentioned by the writer are nowhere in sight. The rulers alone cannot change the cultural landscape of the country. Intellectuals and the civil society will have to come forward proactively to mitigate these crises.
