No loadshedding during Sehar, Iftar: PM
ISLAMABAD: The prime minister has assured the people that there will be no power loadshedding in the upcoming Ramazan at Sehar and Iftar timings.
Chairing the federal cabinet meeting here on Thursday, the prime minister gave assurance during the briefing given by the minister for power to the cabinet about the current demand and supply situation of electricity in the country. The members of the cabinet posed questions to their colleague about the power supply situation. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The Cabinet authorised the minister for water resources for issuance of notification regarding determination of tariffs by Nepra in case of Hydel Power Plants.
Approval was accorded for nomination / appointment of director / chairman of Pakistan-Iran Investment Company (PICL). The cabinet accorded in principle approval for the establishment of Pakistan Physical Therapy Council and Pakistan Allied Health Professionals and Paramedics Council. The cabinet further directed to present the draft legislation before the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases. The cabinet was also briefed about the progress into balloting process and Haj Policy 2018.
The cabinet directed to ensure best arrangements for the purpose of facilitation and affordability of Haj. The cabinet ratified the recommendations of the Cabinet Committee for Legislative Cases (CCLC) held on 24-4-2018, decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet in its meetings held on 12-4-2018 and 17-4-2018; and decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCE) in its meeting held on 23-4-2018 in Karachi.
