Islamabad: Irritated by the rising temperatures, especially during the daytime, the Islooites were pleasantly surprised on Tuesday to wake up to an overcast morning.
The skies remained cloudy most of the day turning the weather pleasant and giving the people a relief from the increasing mercury. To cheer the residents more, the weathermen forecast a rainy spell for the next two days.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasting officer Muhammad Farooq, there is a greater likelihood of rain coupled with strong winds, thunders and dust storm falling in Islamabad today (Wednesday) and Thursday.
He said thundershowers would also lash upper Punjab’s Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan and Kohat divisions, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, and AJK during the two days.
The weatherman added that the dust storm could hit Southern Punjab’s Multan and DG Khan divisions in the afternoon. He however warned that the mercury was likely to further increase in Southern Punjab and parts of Sindh.
