CHARSADDA: Awami National Party (ANP) general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain on Tuesday said that the 11 points election manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) presented at the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore public meeting was a political ploy to grab the power.

“Who has stopped or created any hurdle for the PTI government to implement these 11 points manifesto in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the party’s nearly five year rule in the province,” he asked. He was speaking at a public meeting in Sardheri area here.

The nationalist politician said the harbingers of change damaged government institution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The claims of bringing about revolution in Health and Education departments are a pack of lies,” he charged.

Mian Iftikhar said that the ministers and parliamentarians belonging to the PTI were levelling serious corruption allegations against Chief Minster Pervez Khattak. He alleged that Pervez Khattak earned Rs18 billion in the Billion Tree Tsunami and Rs3 billion in the Rapid Bus Transit (BRT) projects on account of commission in the two schemes.

Mian Iftikhar said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was investigating corruption cases against the chief minister and claimed more corruption stories of other ministers would be unearthed in the coming days.

The ANP leader said Imran Khan was claiming credit for introducing reforms in Police Department but Pervez Khattak was insulting the force. He said the cops fought bravely in the war against terrorism along with the then ANP-led provincial government and played the role of front line in the war.

Mian Iftikhar said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) had been turned useless and NAB was investigating corruption cases against its officers. He said that Imran Khan was not destined to become prime minister. “But one thing is clear that he can only contract marriages,” he added.

Mian Iftikhar warned against reversing the 18 Constitution Amendment, saying the fate of the forces wanted to roll back the law would not be different from those advocated the Kalabagh Dam issue.
