GUJRANWALA: A poverty-stricken disabled man put his two children on sale at Aziz Chowk, Pindi Bypass, on Tuesday.
The disabled man, Hanif, put his son Usman, 12, and daughter Safeena, 8, on sale. He told the people he had lost his one leg in an accident. He said that he was not capable to do work while his wife had already died. On information, Aroop police reached the spot and persuaded him to return to his house with his children.
Doctor prefers refreshment to patient

GUJRANWALA: Relatives of a 65-year-old patient staged a demonstration against an alleged inhuman attitude of a duty doctor at the DHQ Hospital on Tuesday.
Kalsoom Bibi was brought to the hospital by her relatives but the duty doctor asked them to wait as he was busy in refreshment. It infuriated the patient’s relatives and they exchanged hot words with the doctor. To it, the doctor allegedly refused to examine the patient and asked her relatives to go to some other doctor.
Meanwhile, the patient’s relatives staged a demonstration against the doctor. They also blocked a road and pelted the passers-by with stones. On information, police rushed to the spot and dispersed the protesters.
