The parade

Holding the Pakistan Day parade after a gap of seven years is indeed a great step. The sight of parachutes descending from the sky brought back old memories. But we should not forget that everyone has the right to celebrate March 23. What was the fault of those who remained stranded on GT Road? Similarly, the closure of cellular phone services for more than half the day did not make any sense.
If the authorities had to take such measures then the parade venue should not have been the federal capital. And to confound our miseries, there is no electricity to watch the parade even on TV. My children woke up early to watch the parade but it was another day to spend at home with no electricity, no mobile signals and closed roads.
