AMP to stage demo in Lahore tomorrow

OKARA: Activists of the Anjuman-e-Mazareen Punjab (AMP) will stage a demonstration in Lahore on March 25 (tomorrow).
It was announced by AMP general secretary Mehr Abdus Sattar, Hafiz Jabbar and Ch Muhammad Shafiq after a meeting of their organisation here on Monday. They said that they would continue their struggle till the release of their leaders Malik Saleem Jhakhar and Nadeem Ashraf. Meanwhile, DPO Faisal Rana commenting on the announcement of the AMP leaders said that protest was a right of every citizen but blocking roads, burn tyres or making loss to any govt or public property would not be tolerated.
‘PUNJAB GOVT TAKING REVOLUTIONARY MEASURES’: Punjab Irrigation Minister Mian Yawar Zaman has said that the Punjab government is taking revolutionary measures to bring modern changes in the Punjab police.
He said this while addressing a function held at the Tayyab Saeed Shaheed Police Lines on the Pakistan Day here on Monday. Okara Chamber of Commerce & Industry president Arshad Iqbal, DPO Faisal Rana, SP Investigation Dr Farrukh Malik, DBA president Ch Muhammad Aslam, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran president Ch Muhammad Saleem Sadiq, family members of 35 police martyrs and others were also present. The DPO said that the Punjab police were sacrificing their lives to provide security to the life and property of the masses. Later, wreaths of flowers were laid on the martyrs’ memorial.
COMMITS SUICIDE: A married woman committed suicide at 29-A/4-L village on Monday.
Musarrat Bibi ended her life by shooting herself. The motive behind the incident is said to be a domestic dispute.
