No action against quacks in Nawabshah
NAWABSHAH: Despite Supreme Court orders, no action has been taken against the quacks, in Nawabshah and the surrounding areas, who are allegedly working with impunity in connivance with the drug inspectors of the health department.
It has been observed that the quacks publicise themselves as qualified doctors and hakeems, offering treatment of every disease, on the advertisement boards. In a recently conducted survey, over 300 such clinics were found operational in the towns of the Nawabshah district including Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, Daulatpur and Daur towns, offering treatment of serious diseases like cancer, diabetes, blood pressure, hepatitis and others unchecked and unhampered.
The majority of these quacks, sources said are actually dispensers and ward boys at the Peoples Medical Hospital and the Taluka Hospitals of the district. They check patients at their private clinics during and after their duty hours, while charging heavy fees. The sources allege that they work in connivance with the Drug Inspectors of the Health Department, who patronise them.
The people have asked the administration for implementing the Supreme Court orders and undertake strict action against quacks and hakeems who are playing with the lives of the people.
