Six taken into custody over rape and murder of girl in Larkana

SUKKUR: The Larkana police on Thursday took six people, suspected of being involved in the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl Saima, into its custody. The six arrested suspects included a watchman, a shopkeeper and the owner of the house where the sniffer dog entered and sat.

Naseem Ahmed Jarwar, father of the victim girl, protested and demanded the constitution of a medical board, because the police were trying to save the rapists and killers. He demanded the immediate arrest of killers.

SSP Larkana Tanveer Tunio said that some suspects had been taken into custody and investigation was underway to arrest the real culprits. It may be mentioned here that two days ago, a nine-year-old girl Saima, daughter of Naseem Ahmed Jarwar, went mysteriously missing from the Ayub Colony in Larkana. Her parents after searching her informed the jurisdiction police about the incident. However, after 12 hours, the dead body of the girl was recovered from a deep ditch (cave) near a hotel.

The body of the girl was later shifted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, where it was revealed in the girl’s post-mortem report that the accused, after raping the girl, strangled her to death.

SSP Larkana Tanveer Tunio had visited the crime scene and recovered a chappal and a chaddar from there and started investigating the case. The SSP also suspended a Station House Officer (SHO).

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh IGP AD Khowaja and Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal took notice of the incident and sought report from the DIG Larkana. They also ordered the DIG Larkana to ensure the immediate arrest of killers.
