Australia U-16s take 3-1 lead against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: A dominant bowling performance helped Australia Under-16s take a 3-1 series advantage against Pakistan Under-16s in Melbourne Tuesday. In the fourth match at the CitiPower Centre, Australia bundled out tourists for just 74, before chasing down the target with seven wickets to spare. The hosts won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mitchell Pascoe (4-41) and new inclusion Will Sanders (3-16) led the charge, as no Pakistan player passed 15 with the bat. Brock Larance (1-8) bowled six maidens in his eight overs, while Michael Herbst claimed 1-5 from four overs. In reply, Australia lost Kyle Brazell for a golden duck, before Jet Liebke (27) and Yash Pednekar (24) took control of proceedings. Both were dismissed with the score on 55, before Jake Fraser-McGurk (18 not out) and Larance (five not out) guided Australia to victory in the 19th over. The fifth one-day match will be played on Thursday, ahead of a T20 on Friday to round out the series.

Scores: Pakistan 74 all out in 32 overs (Umer Emman 15, Mubashir Nawaz 11, Hussain Ali 10, Harris Khan 9, Khalilur Rehman 2, Hasan Abid Kiyani 0, M Pasco 4-41, M Sanders 3-16). Australia 78 for 3 in 18.2 overs (J Liebke 27, Y Pednekar 24, Harris Khan 1-10).
