PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professors and Lecturers Association (KPPLA) on Tuesday staged protest outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in favour of their demands.

The protesters announced protest across the province from Monday.
The protesting professors and lecturers Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had announced a package for the college teachers in the presence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
They said the package had a five-tier formula that allowed BS allowance, MPhil and PhD allowance, principal allowance and hard area allowance.
However, they claimed that some of the perks had been removed from the summery that was presented to the chief minister. They added that the conditions that were attached to the five-tier formula were not acceptable to the college teachers.
