Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan who is currently visiting Iran reviewed the facilities provided to the pilgrims at Shrine of Imam Raza.
PTDC managing director also addressed the Pakistani pilgrims there and said that there was a need to take steps to increase tourism cooperation between Pakistan and Iran. “Providing proper facilities for accommodation, increasing frequency of flights and transport is our primary priority, which will increase the flow of visitors and boost cooperation in both the countries. Pakistan and Iran are members of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) and Regional Cooperation Development (RCD) and these organisations are working closely on the peace and development projects in the region. Tour operators of both the countries should work together by sharing tour packages. Many tour operators are operating illegal groups of groups due to which visitors have to face difficulties. Prevention of such tour operators is very important,” he added.
He further added that drop-box facility will be provided soon to facilitate group tourists and visitors between Pakistan and Iran. Earlier, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor also addressed potential investors of Iran while visiting Mashhad Museum, saying that Pakistani people want Iran to be more stable. However, the number of tourists to Pakistan is very low. “Support of Iran government to increase tourist flow is required,” he added.
