It seems that footpaths across Karachi are not designed for pedestrians, but are spaces that are regularly being used by shopkeepers to expand their shops. This leaves pedestrians with no other option but to walk on roads, disturbing the flow of traffic and increasing the risk of accidents. The authorities concerned should give strict orders and ensure that footpaths are not used for commercial purposes. We must realise that these spaces are provided for pedestrians and shouldn’t be misused.
