Transgender person shot dead in Swabi
SWABI: Unidentified assailants shot dead a transgender person while others survived the attack in the jurisdiction of Kalu Khan Police Station late Sunday night.
Police said that the transgender persons were at their abode at Shewa Adda, the headquarters of Razzar tehsil, when unknown attackers came in and started indiscriminate fire on the occupants.
Soon after the incident, the police reached the crime spot and found the transgender, Khanullah alias Shino dead. The entire market was closed at the time of the incident. It was not known as to who was behind the gruesome incident.
The companions of the slain transgender got registered a case against the unidentified killers. They told police that two motorcyclists reached their residence at night and started firing on Shino.
They said that they rushed for cover and the killers fled the scene after committing the crime.Officials said that they had started investigations and hoped the killers would be arrested soon. It may be noted that transgender persons in the district had regularly been targeted and harassed.
