Seven-year-old boy rescued six days after abduction
The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) along with the Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) has recovered an abducted child from Hyderabad on Monday morning.
Police said that seven-year-old Master Essa Khan, son of Noor ul Haq, had been kidnapped on April 18 in the jurisdiction of Preedy Police Station. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom amount of Rs500,000 and through a call on April 19.
Afterwards, a joint team of the CPLC and the AVCC started negotiations with the suspects and used technical assistance to locate the kidnappers.
On Monday morning, they got information about suspects from Hyderabad Range, where they raided a location and safely recovered the child. Raids are under way for the arrest of the abductors. Further investigations are under way.
Fireworks seized
District West police busted a factory involved in manufacturing fireworks and seized a huge quantity of them.
During the raid on a godown conducted on a tip-off, Mominabad police seized a huge quantity of fireworks and arrested two suspects in Kachi Market of Orangi Town’s Sector 10.
The suspects were identified as Riazuddin alias Aslam and Khurram alias Guddu. During the search, they found 147 cartons of fireworks, including 112 cartons of bombs matches, seven cartons of Hawai bombs, two cartons of six-shotter bombs, two cartons of blast bombs and 24 cartons of Phool Jhari.
The worth of the seized contrabands is about Rs0.8 million in the market. Police registered a case against the suspects. During the preliminary interrogation, Riazuddin admitted that he used to prepare fireworks and sold them in different areas of the city.
Rangers’ raids
The paramilitary force, during targeted operations, arrested five suspected criminals, including extortionists.
The spokesman for the Sindh Rangers said that soldiers conducted a raid in the Gulshan-e-Maymar area, and arrested Sikandar Ali Mugheri. The accused was alleged to be involved in a number of extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.
In FB Area, Pak Colony and PIB Colony raids four men, identified as Akhtar, Shams, Zubair Ahmed Khan and Mohammad Amir, were arrested. The accused were involved in a number of robberies and street crime incidents.
Weapons and looted items were seized from the possession of the suspects, who were later handed over to police for further legal proceedings. Further investigations are under way.
