Squad for South Asian Junior Athletics announced
KARACHI: The Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) on Sunday announced the squad for the South Asian Junior Athletics Championship which would be held in Colombo on May 5.
As many as eight male and four female athletes will represent the country. They will be accompanied by coaches Qadir Tanvir and Seemi Rizvi. Chaudhry Iqbal Akhtar will be the head delegate.
India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan, Bhutan and Nepal will also be part of the competitions. Pakistan’s men will compete in 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x400m relay and discus throw, while the female athletes will show their worth in 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay.
Their training camp is in progress at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, under the supervision of head coach Mohammad Asghar Gill, who is being assisted by coaches Rana Sajjad, Bushra Parveen and Seemi Rizvi. The team will leave for Colombo on May 4.
Squad: Muhammad Wasim, Muhammad Hamza, Hasan Raza, Muhammad Shahzad, Younis Waqar, Moeed Baloch, Abdul Razaq, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Tahreem, Esha, Aqsa and Noorul Ameen.
