This is to draw the attention of the authorities to the delay in the construction of Simly Dam Road. Residents of Bhara Kahu are facing many problems in this regard. That the relevant authorities have noticed the broken and uneven road is fortunate, but residents will have a sigh of relief when the road is constructed in a timely manner. Having taken notice of the situation, the authorities concerned dug up the road. However, it discontinued the work in an abrupt manner. Previously, it was said that the patch of three- to four-kilometres-long road, whose usage is maximum, would be constructed within a few days.
But it is sad to point out that all construction work was left midway. The delay has caused so many problems in the area. The stagnant water that fills the holes dug by the authorities has become a breeding ground for insects, spreading dengue and malaria in the surrounding areas. Pedestrians are also suffering owing to large heaps of soil, grit and stones across the road. It looks like the patience of road users is being tested. The relevant authorities should finish the pending work at the earliest.
