PESHAWAR: The Private Schools on Friday announced strike against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Private Schools Regulatory Authority (KP-PSRA).
Talking to The News, Hub of Private Education (HOPE) Peshawar President, Wasifullah, said the PSRA’s laws were beyond comprehension.
He said the private schools would welcome reforms, but damaging the education sector in the name of reforms was unacceptable.
The government action would compel private sector to shift resources to other provinces and that would jeopardise the education, he said, and asked the government to categorise the institutions.
The schools charging highest fee should give highest discount while the ones charging lowest fee should not be force to give discount, he added.
“Demanding of a school that provides quality education in a rural area at Rs1,000 a month to give discount to four or five siblings is not feasible,” he said, adding that such laws would force owners to close their schools.
He alleged that the government was damaging private sector education, adding the government had no policy for education and was panicked at the end of its tenure.
Wasifullah maintained that the schools charging the lowest fee would not survive when it stop the fee during vacation.
He said the private schools across the province would remain closed on Monday and Tuesday against these discriminatory policies.
