PESHAWAR: The Milli Muslim League (MML) President Saifullah Khalid has said that Pakistan without Pakhtuns is incomplete as they are playing a vital role for the country’s security.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Conference on Friday, the MML president said Pashtuns were patriotic Pakistanis and should get their rights. However, he added that anti-Pakistan propaganda in the name of Pashtun rights could not be supported.
MML Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Liaquat Ali Khan, Mufti Muhammad Qasim, Ghazi Inamullah and others were also present on the occasion.
Saifullah Khalid said the US had included his party in the terror-list, but vowed that his party would contest the general election. He asked the government not to create hurdles for his party to contest the next election.
He maintained that his party would field candidates on provincial and national assembly seats across the country.
The MML president added that his party would form electoral alliances with other political parties on the basis of Pakistan ideology. “Our alliance with other parties would be based on the Kashmiris support and Pakistan Ideology,” he declared.
Saifullah Khalid asked the election commission to register his party as they had no affiliation with any outlawed organization.
He asked the UN to ensure right of self-determination to Kashmiris and vowed to muster support for the just cause of Kashmiris. The MML president criticised the government for not taking up the issue of pellet guns in the occupied Kashmir.
