PESHAWAR: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar, on Tuesday postponed the intermediate examination scheduled for April 20.
“The examination will now commence on April 25,” said, BISE Chairman Dr Fazlur Rahman, adding, the new schedule would be made public today (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, employees of all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa called off strike after meeting with KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, Islamabad.
The representatives of all BISEs apprised the speaker of their reservations over the proposed bill for the restructuring of BISEs.
The speaker assured them of not tabling the bill in the KP Assembly before all stakeholders, particularly employees, were taken into confidence and their grievances addressed. He was informed that the proposed bill had been drafted in haste and none of the stakeholders taken into confidence.
The speaker assured the BISE employees that the bill would not be tabled unless the grievances of all stakeholders were addressed. He also pointed out that such bills were generally sent to select committee for a review and later tabled in the assembly.
