JI warns against criticism of state institutions
LAHORE : Jamaat e Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has warned that a clash between the politicians and the state institutions, and the continued criticism of the state institutions were bound to have serious consequences for the country’s affairs.
Addressing a gathering of the JI youth convention committee, he said it was high time that a national dialogue was held like the one held in 1973 for framing the constitution of the country.
He said the decisions of judiciary had been subject to criticism since Ayub Khan’s era as the courts had decided cases under the doctrine of necessity, which damaged the image of judiciary.
However, he said, a national strategy should be evolved through consensus, and respect of the parliament, judiciary and the armed forces should be protected. Liaqat Baloch said the JI youth was the representative of the country’s youth and the JI Youth Convention at Minar e Pakistan would greatly help organise the younger generation of the country against the clutches of feudalism, capitalism and self-centered politicians.
He said the foremost challenge of the time was to bring the youth to the forefront of the national politics, and the political leadership should also acknowledge it
