Two youths injured by stray kite string

LAHORE: Two people were injured by stray kite string in different parts of City on Sunday. A youth, Akash, was passing through the Nishtar Colony area on a bike when a stray kite string caused injuries to his eyes and face. He was admitted to hospital. A 16-year-old youth, Arsalan, was injured by a stray kite string on Khokhar Road at Badami Bagh. He was removed to hospital where his condition was stated to be stable.

accidents: A bike rider was severely injured by a speeding car near Muslim Town underpass on Sunday. The injured bike rider, yet to be identified, was admitted to hospital where his condition was stated to be critical. Meanwhile, two people were injured by a rashly-driven truck near Kahna Kacha. They were admitted to hospital.

arrested: Punjab Highway Patrol claimed to have arrested 241 criminals, including 115 proclaimed offenders (POs). PHP teams also seized three rifles, 40 pistols, 295 bullets, 2,270 litre liquor, 13,405 gram charas and 60 gram heroin from the possession of the arrested persons. Meanwhile, PHP teams reunited 10 children; M Farooq, M Raees, M Jamil, Hamza, M Muneer, M Saleem, Ahsan, Sabir Hussain, M Rizwan and Rashid; with their parents.

smugglers: FIA claimed to have arrested three notorious human smugglers here. The accused were identified as M Shabbir and Ghulam Nabi Khan of Gujranwala and Tahir Muneeb Yousuf of Lahore. M Shabbir and Ghulam Nabi had allegedly received Rs 1.4 million from a complainant of Lahore while Tahir allegedly got Rs 1 million for an employment visa of the USA from a complainant of Karachi. FIRs have been registered against them.
