Imran hails CJP, judges for making corrupt mafia accountable
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Saturday that the Chief Justice of Pakistan and his fellow judges deserve appreciation for accountability of the powerful mafia.
This he said on the occasion of joining of the PTI by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Bilal Ahmad Virk here at Banigala.
Expressing complete solidarity with the state institutions, the PTI chairman said the entire nation stood by the judiciary and other institutions. He said his party would not allow anyone to blackmail the state institutions or run away from accountability. Imran said that on April 29, the foundations of a new Pakistan would be laid in Lahore.
The PTI chief alleged that the Sharif family had forced slavery, poverty and ignorance upon the people of Pakistan and had amassed wealth for their children.
“An era of an ideological Pakistan is returning to Pakistan,” he said.
Meanwhile, talking to journalists after the senior leadership’s meeting under the tag of parliamentary board, the party’s Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry said that to commit suicide would be a better option than to opt for seat adjustment with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Punjab in general elections, which had no candidates to field.
Fawad alleged that both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari had been brothers (two sides of same coin) and when need arose, Nawaz even joined hands with former military ruler Pervez Musharraf. He pointed out that Ishaq Dar, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Saad Rafique were among those, who were administered oath by Musharraf.
Referring to MaryamNawaz’s statements, Fawad advised her to first study the political life of her father Nawaz Sharif before issuing statements against political rivals.
To a question, he said that Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah had sought name of the caretaker prime minister from the PTI. “We have finalised a name and will share it with him shortly,” he maintained.
He also tried to clarify that he PTI had held no talks with PPP on the election of the Senate chairman.
About the popularity of the PTI, Fawad claimed that Imran Khan had converted the party into a machine, without which elections could not be won. “We are now like a sea for all rivers to flow in its direction,” he remarked.
About joining of Bilal Virk, he said that the process of disintegration of the PML-N was continuing and in next few days, more would become part of the PTI. Fawad said they were not sure whether they would be facing PML-N as a political rival in next general elections or it would be ‘reduced to a small group’.
About the decisions of the PTI parliamentary board, it was learnt that it decided not to make public the names of several candidates, as this could have negative impact on the upcoming party rally in Lahore on April 29.
“Yes, it has been decided to announce names of some 30-40 percent candidates for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after our Lahore rally, sometime in mid-May,” sources privy to the meeting told The News. The board will meet again Sunday as usual for consultations, but names would be held back, allowing all to put in maximum effort for making the April 29 event a great success.
