Mardan lawyers pass resolution against PTM
MARDAN: Demanding the army to treat people in a better way at the security checkpoints, the District Bar Association Mardan on Saturday unanimously passed a resolution against Manzoor Pashteen and his Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) for starting a campaign against the institutions of the country.
The resolution was passed at the association’s general body meeting which was called to discuss one-point agenda concerning the Manzoor Pashteen-led PTM at the bar room.
The meeting was presided over by the association’s president Amjad Saleem, a press release said.
Addressing the meeting, the speakers said that for the last several days a campaign has been started against the Pakistan Army and in favour of Manzoor Pashteen in the international media, particularly the Voice of America, Voice of Germany and Afghan and Indian news outlets.
They said that international forces wanted to create a movement in the country like the one that resulted in the creation of Bangladesh.
They also criticised Manzoor Pashteen and his agenda and announced to stand by the country and its institutions.
They also asked the chief of army staff to order the security forces deployed at the roadside checkpoints to treat the people in a better way.
