PROVINCIAL Minister for Population Welfare Begum Zakia Shahnawaz has said that distribution of laptops is an important achievement of the government for the promotion of education and equipping students with modern knowledge.
She expressed these views while addressing a ceremony of distribution of laptops among students of religious seminaries at Jamia Ashrafia on Friday. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Saira Afzal Tarar, teachers and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
The minister said the Punjab government had started projects for the promotion of information technology in educational institutions. About 345 laptops were distributed among students of religious seminaries.
Begum Zakia stressed students to utilise all their capabilities for obtaining expertise in arts and crafts as education was a key to success. She said it was a need of the hour that women should have equal opportunities of development along with men. She said the Punjab government had taken practical steps for the development of every sector. Begum Zakia Shahnawaz said that our hardworking new generation was a guarantee to a bright and safer future of Pakistan.
Transfers: The Punjab government has issued a notification of transfer and posting of officers on Friday.
According to the notification Akhlaq Hussain, Professor of English, has been posted as Principal Post Graduate College Sahiwal. Ghulam Mustafa Butt, District Officer Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Mal, has been transferred and posted as EDO (CD) Bahawalnagar.
