The death of a member of the District Bar Association (DBA) of Larkana in a horrific road accident on the road between Sehwan and Jamshoro has led to a wave of mourning. A large number of lives have been lost on this route. Although successive governments have announced the construction of a dual carriageway, there has been no visible progress in this regard.
The criminal silence of other relevant authorities, including the National Motorway and Highway Police, has also further aggravated the problem. The authorities should have deployed trained personnel to control the heavy flow of traffic and enforce speed limit to avoid any untoward situation. The higher authorities must take notice of this situation and adopt the necessary measures to avert such unfortunate incidents.
